La Section Internationale Britannique au Collège George Sand

Ouverte en 2008, la Section Internationale Britannique est un programme bilingue intégré au système français. Les élèves ont un enseignement en anglais en immersion. Le programme littéraire et linguistique s’inspire du programme Britannique (National Curriculum). Les élèves suivent aussi 2h d’histoire / géographie enseignées en anglais.

La philosophie pédagogique de cette section correspond à une participation active dans le processus d’apprentissage ce qui rend le programme accessible, interactif et qui invite à une ouverture d’esprit vers un monde international.

Nous avons une grande expérience dans la gestion des élèves internationaux / bilingues, leurs spécificités et leurs besoins. Ceci permet une intégration plus fluide dans le système français. Les élèves arrivants de l’étranger qui ne parlent pas français ont accès à des heures de FLS (Français Langue Seconde) afin d’accélérer leur intégration dans tous les cours.

L'entrée dans la section est soumise à une procédure de sélection. Les élèves doivent envoyer une demande (voir le lien du dossier ci-joint à venir) pour accéder au test d’entrée qui a lieu fin mai (ou fin août - uniquement pour les élèves arrivant en France de l’étranger).

The British International Section at George Sand Middle School

Opened in 2008, the British International Section is a bilingual programme within the French public national education system. Pupils are taught English through immersion and projects following the British English language and literature curriculums. They also have 2 hours a week of History and Geography taught in English.

The teaching philosophy is active participation in the learning process making the programme accessible, interactive, and thought-provoking.

Our experience has given us a good understanding of international / bilingual students, their specific characteristics and needs, thus allowing a better integration into the French school system. Some of the students are given access a “French as a Foreign Language” (FLE) classes when necessary, in order to speed up their level in all the other subjects taught in French.

There is a selection process for this class – pupils must register for the entrance test (lien dossier à venir) which takes place either at the end of May (or at the end of August exclusively for pupils returning or arriving in France over the summer).

A la fin de 3e les élèves passent deux épreuves orales en anglais (littérature et Histoire / Géographie) afin d’obtenir la mention Internationale ajoutée à leur Brevet français.

At the end of year 10, the pupils will take two English oral examinations (Literature and History/Geography) which will add an extra International Option to their French equivalent to GCSE.
